The Stray Balloon

We woke up one morning recently, looked out the front window and this is what we saw:

A very large very close hot air balloon. There is an empty field (technically, I don't think they're called fields here in New Mexico, but for lack of a better word, the Texan in me thinks "field") behind our neighborhood, and apparently, this balloon landed really close in this field. The kids were thrilled! They wanted to walk over and look at it, but as quickly as it appeared, it disappeared. What a treat, though, to see a balloon landing so close. This is definitely one of the perks of living in Albuquerque!
